Love You Fox...Tag, You're It Challenge #59~Rubeena Naz

Hello!

Welcome to Tag, You're It Challenge #59, where we - and in turn, you, our fabulous design supporters - are drawing inspiration from this beautiful tag created by the impressive creative (and newly married!) Rubeena Naz.

Guest Featured Designer

No way would I be able to create a water-colour, scrumptious beauty like Rubeena's, so I went in my own direction, focusing on her elements of placement, colours and a second sparkle tag.  Here's my version...another chance to play with the sweet Stylized Autumn fox created by Kay Miller.

As you can imagine, the plethora of Halloween tags I made for my niece and nephew meant that they've been very much on my mind (as they always are!).  As I was creating this, I had wonderful memories guiding me...

Back when Ms T was just shy of three (she's six now), she sooooooo wanted to learn to write her letters, which I must say, she mastered rather quickly (yes, I'm biased, but not in this case! She was a studious little student).  I'd write the letters and she'd copy underneath. Of course, she often wound up with a gigantic B, or a teensy, backwards S, or in a masterful piece of art, a stylized version of her name where the 'roof' of the letter T was shelter for the remaining letters of her name.  It wasn't long before I decided that she was ready to copy sentences and this is the one we started with:  The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dogs.  All the letters of the alphabet are here, I told her, and so after she'd written it, we'd go for a search, just to be sure Aunty c wasn't spoofing her!  It's still our favourite; only now, the sentence's letters are of (more or less) uniform size, with a capital at the beginning and period at the end.  I'm excited she's growing up, but oh, how I miss those wonderful moments with my 'little' girl....

Anyway, the tag's going to her, with 'our' special sentence written on the back....

Enough of my Aunty ramblings...

Please check out what the rest of the team have created:

Looking forward to seeing your translations of Rubeena's tag.
I know they'll be amazing!
See you in the gallery!

Leaves, Leaves, Leaves...Inspired by all the Little Things Challenge #29~Leaves, TIME OUT Challenge #69, My Time To Craft Challenge #332~Autumn Colours or Halloween, Simon Says Monday Challenge~Autumn, Simon Says Wednesday Challenge~Anything Goes

Hello,

Ms. Last Minute here once again to share my card for the nearly-closing Inspired by all the Little Things Challenge #29~Leaves. That photo is just sooooo pretty....as are all the DT creations and the entries in the gallery.  Had to play....

STAMPlorations leaves, distress inked and spritzed, and a STAMPlorations sentiment...

NOTE: Absolutely thrilled and honoured to be Kim's choice as an Inspiring Standout at Inspired by All the Little Things! THANK YOU!

I missed adding sparkling rain droplets, but given I was holding my breath the entire time making this (striving not be heavy handed with misting), I was not going to take any risks!  We'll just consider my leaves as being dry, having been tumbled and twirled about by the ever-prevalent winds around these parts *grin*....

Hello,

Running in last minute with my card for The Heart Desires Challenge #5~Elements:  Colors, Stack 'em Up, Large Sentiments.  Apologies for being late BUT....

I did bring a stack of pastel-ish coloured macarons that I'm more than willing to share!  As for the sentiment: I'm declaring, boldly, *grin* that all of you on this team truly ARE amazing!!

NOTE: So thrilled that my stack of macarons received one of two Honourable Mentions at The Heart Desires Challenge #5! THANK YOU!

I haven't played with this Sugar Rush set from STAMPlorations for a while, so it was fun to bring it  out, even though eons passed before I arrived at the decision to use it!  Yeesh...blaming my slo-mo mojo on allllll the Halloween tags of late!  I'm *boo-ed* out (at least for this day...)

More Halloween Tags....Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #217

Hello,

Time for my DT and I to invite you to Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #217~Make Your Mark.

Bring out those colouring tools, my friend! Pencils, markers, sponges, paints...

Be warned: I'm still on my Halloween tag making kick for my niece's and nephew's classmates *grin* Today, I'm sharing three of the label-shaped tags for my nephew's daycare pals...and each one has received a little snippet of colouring using my Chameleon markers. (Remember: making your mark doesn't have to be accomplished in gi-normous amounts...at least that's my perspective and I'm sticking with it!).

The 'spooky' images are from SugarPea Designs Sweet Treats: Halloween and the papers from Doodlebug (last year, I believe).

First up are some morsels of candy corn,

followed by a scowly-faced Frankie (as I would be wearing if someone pierced my neck!),

and a heavy-browed owl....

Here they are, posing together.

I made a total of 10  in this style. I'll share the rest soon. Very soon! (And yes, I'm nearly done with the Halloween gig...I think. Still a couple more days, though...)

Please be sure to visit the ATSM site to see the delights my team created.
Looking forward to seeing your 'make your mark' projects in the gallery!

Coffee Friendship....MUSE Challenge #188

Hello,

Taking a wee break from Halloween tags (need to get them sent by Tuesday!) to play over at MUSE Challenge #188,  We're invited to draw inspiration from Jenni's pretty floral card:

Her layout caught my eye, as did her sentiment.  Here's mine, with a nod to her background coloured panel, key image placed top left,  'friendship' connection, and background banners/tags....

You see a 'bit' of resemblance, right?

Back to making Halloween tags!  I'll share more later!

Thank you so much for spending part of your day with me; your visit brings me  joy!

Love in my Heart...FUSION (Challenge Oct. 20), Allsorts Challenge #385~Pink October, Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge #2~Watercolour, Simon Wednesday Challenge~Think Pink

Hello,

Is time flying by at warp speed for you the way it is for me?  How did we arrive at nearly the end of October already?  Yikes!  I still haven't finished the Halloween 'somethings' I'm making for my niece and nephew's classmates and daycare pals!  Getting close, but still a few things to do...I'll be sharing soon...stay tuned.

Okay, down to the business at hand! A warm welcome to the newest FUSION~Soft and Subtle challenge where we're inviting you to draw inspiration from the gorgeous bouquet or the fabulous sketch or a combination of both.  I confess: I pointed out those pretty blooms to my husband.  Hint! Hint!  I don't 'need' flowers, however, if some were to magically appear, I wouldn't be too upset *grin*

A second confession: I found the challenge a bit daunting. The flowers are SO pretty that I didn't want to 'mess up' their impact with my interpretation that wouldn't do them justice. The sketch, while certainly appealing and open to a zillion possibilities, has 'strips' that I have troubles with. I obviously need more dies to help me in that department (or a heavy dose of Mr. Mojo to see alternatives). Finally, after several starts-and-not-finishes, I opted to focus on the colours - the light/slighter deeper rose, to be precise - as well as what roses represent - love.  I wound up with this....

NOTE:  Honoured to be selected as one of Top 5 Winners over at Allsorts Challenge #385~Pink October! THANK YOU!

My card looks 'basic,' but in real life, its a-shimmer with distress inks that have been liberally perfect pearls spritzed (spun sugar and worn lipstick for the 'hearts'' festive berries for the veins).  Simply simple, despite the convoluted journey it took to get there.  I'm pleased with my  Concord and 9th  'leafy love hearts'; I hope they make you smile, too.

For more inspiration, check out my incredibly talented team-mates' designs.  Here's the list...do drop in for a visit, leave them some love....

then, craft a card of your own and join us in the gallery. Remember, the process is simple:

1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.
5.  HAVE FUN!!!

See you in the gallery!

Tree-Decorating Snowman and Snowflakes...Serendipity October Blog Hop and Half-way Challenge Reminder~Celebrate Anything

Hello

I'm delighted to welcome you to the Serendipity Stamps October Blog Hopwhere this month's theme is Celebrate Anything, using Anything Goes techniques.  The door is wide open to unlimited possibilities!

When you hop along with us (you should have arrived here from wonderfully talented Patti Kehl's blog), you'll be treated to some dazzling creativity AND and a prize opportunity.

Here's the hop order:

Leaving comments puts you into the running for a prize: a $20 gift certificate to one commenter randomly selected from all the blogs. You can leave comments through to midnight October 23; the winner will be announced on Mary's blog on Monday, Oct. 24.

Christmas is coming wayyyyy too quickly, so I've decided to make at least a 'wee' dent in the 'must make' card list. Today, I'm celebrating Christmas with two techniques. The first is one I do my best to avoid - watercolour (yep, the challenge to get it right persists) - but given the darling image calling for attention, I couldn't resist. Out came my Prisma watercolour pencils, paired with a very light touch in adding water. The results make me smile! Please say hello to this incredibly cute, brand new Snowman Decorating Tree, in the midst of a flurry of Ink Spots snowflakes.

My second card features another newcomer to the Serendipity shop: the Snowflake Reverse Die.  I cut the snowflakes from white cardstock, and adhered the panel to a teal background. A second pass of the die, using silver shimmer card stock, gave me another set of snowflakes that I offset slightly over the openings. The peeks of teal through the silver is really pretty in real life.  An easy-to-make card, perfect for mass producing...

Before I send you off on your *merry* way, a trio of important items:
  • Sale Alert! This week's sale will be free shipping on US orders of $25 or more,  good Wednesday, Oct. 19th through Sunday the 23rd.  No coupon code required.  Happy shopping!

  • A reminder that the stamp of the month (50% off) for October is the so pretty Pumpkin Border.

Looking forward to seeing your creativity in the gallery!

Happy Thanksgiving...Curtain Call Glittery Gourds~Guest Designer, Just Add Ink Challenge #333~Just Add "G", Double D Challenges~Pumpkin Time

Hello,

I'm deeply thrilled and honoured to be playing alongside Sheri and the amazing team over at Curtain Call as the Guest Designer for the new challenge: Curtain Call~Glittery Gourds!  The white pumpkins, studded with gold, have completely captivated me. Elegance and class! I'd  love to have this pair as part of my Fall home decor....

I have definitely brought a shimmery, glimmery pumpkin - and a shaker, to boot -  to the challenge today!  Everything has a sheen about it: the gold polka-dot paper, the gold/white beads, and, the star of the stage; the pumpkin (Pumpkin Die from Serendipity Stamps), cut from gold shimmer card-stock.  The intricate details are so lovely (the twirly 'vine' from the stem is such a charming touch) and the die itself cuts like butter!

Pumpkin glow!

Thank you, Curtain Call gals, for offering me this amazing opportunity. To everyone who stops to visit - a huge thank you - and please be sure to join the fun.  I'm excited to see how the Glittery Gourds inspire YOU!
